What do you do?

Saturday, March 31st, 2007

Some responses I get when I explain what I do are:

“Can you tell the shops to do something about the music they play, it makes me want to leave”!?

and

“Please fix the on hold music that I have to listen to, it drives me insane”.

So what is the music and sonic character of your organisation doing to your customers, employees and your business?

Is it damaging or enhancing your image?

By the way that’s what I do: make you sound good, that is.

Make some noise for the animals

Thursday, March 22nd, 2007

Tamir over at OMG.tv is doing great things around raising awareness about the use of animals in branding and advertising.

He says:

“Colbert is part of a movement to create a nature bank which will be paid 1% of any marketing budget involving animals to distribute between different animal organizations.

I think this is a great idea.

From now on I will try to bring this issue to Australian brands and to report about it in this blog - I would love any help I can get. So please comment here or email me tamir (at) omg (dot) tv”

He’s already been talking with Wolfblass and there’s more to come.

The MGM lions roar, which MGM tradmarked, immediately springs to mind.

Proof we really are just monkeys.

Leesa Barnes over at podonomics.com talks more about what a podcast is and isn’t.

Podcasting is not Podcasting

Thursday, March 15th, 2007

When I see a link or graphic which says “podcast” I expect that the link will open iTunes and automatically subscribe me or at the very least show me an RSS feed that I can subscribe to.

But more and more I am getting this which is misleading, doesn’t meet my expectations and makes me work harder to find the content again.

A podcast is not a file extension. It is a method of automating the delivery of audio and video content. More importantly it makes it easy for you to keep people informed with engaging content… and for people to let you keep them informed.

If you’re feeling cheeky click here to read what this very big digital agency does.

By the way this is a podcast ;-)

Enjoy
